About me

Ex-Stockbroker turned prisoner now writer, ‘DisgracedBanker’ was sentenced in 2011 to a term of imprisonment at Southwark Crown Court on charges relating to Boiler Room Fraud. During his time in prison, he was a fervent diarist and for the benefit of others who may face a period inside, he will be blogging his prison diary. ‘DB’ has also offered mentoring support via the Prince’s Trust to young offenders, helping them to break the cycle, something he began from the inside.

‘DB’ while on bail produced a sales guide, detailing how ‘High Pressure Brokers’ sell. Focusing on cold-calling and telesales techniques used. While a useful sales tool for any salesperson, it can highlight to members of the public, when something may be too good to be true.

A Wideboy’s Handbook can be purchased for Kindle or in paperback.

    Hi David

I’ve enjoyed your blog immensely, thanks for taking the time to write it.
I’m due to be sentenced shortly and will likely end up in HMP Ford – would you mind answering a few questions for me about the day to day life – from the type of radio I’m allowed to toilet facilities?

What’s the best way of getting in touch with you?

Thanks for your reply. I hope you find you can get the best out of a bad situation and remain positive.

        Hi disgracedbanker,

May I ask what you ended up doing in the end? Have you begun a new career? Gone back to college or what? I’d be interested to hear. Thanks and good luck.

    Hi David,

I just wanted to thankyou for your blog. I am currently going through a fraud investigation and am likely to be sentenced to 2-3 years for £60k abuse of position/false representation… when I first found out my mind instantly played out a prison break scenario, yet reading your blog hads made the whole experience seem, whilst not easy, at least manageable…

I wondered, if possible, that we could speak via email to discuss some of my queries, that i dont want to clog up your replies with?

    Many thanks
